ATRA Certification
Testing & Certification Prove, Improve, Assess, Your
working knowledge!
One of the major goals of the Automatic Transmission Rebuilders
Association (ATRA) is to encourage technical competency and a high
standard of professionalism in the automatic transmission repair
industry.
In support of that goal, our objectives are:

To identify persons who have an acceptable knowledge of the
principles and practices of the profession.

To upgrade the level of performance throughout the industry by
encouraging continuous professional development.

To serve as a yardstick for self-assessment by industry
personnel.

To award recognition to those who have demonstrated a high level of
competency in the profession.
AREAS OF CERTIFICATION
ATRA offers three categories of tests:

Rebuilder
-
Chassis Technician
-
Diagnostician
You may take one, two or all three of the tests. You may decide at
the time of testing which tests you would like to take.
PREPARATION
The ATRA Certification tests are available for preview in a Prep Test.
This will enable you to get the answers to all of the 3 certification
tests using whatever resources you have available prior to testing. The
Prep Test is available to download for free or you may request one be
mailed to you at the time of registration.
ATRA CERTIFICATION TESTING FEES

All ATRA Members: FREE of charge

All others: $50 per person

Printed Prep Test and Task List & Definitions: $10 each
HOW TO REGISTER FOR ON-SITE TESTING
Payment can be made by check, money order or major credit card. All
registrations are processed through the ATRA Business Office.
Registrations must be received four weeks prior to the test date. ATRA
Members may register by submitting the online registration
form.
Pre-registration is necessary for materials to be shipped to the test
site. Test sites will be cancelled if there are no
pre-registrations.
